My humble background motivated me to come out best

Some of the adversities we encounter in life in most cases are blessings in disguise. A lot of people that are blazing the trail in various fields of endeavours would have remained as cold as a chilled vegetable oil if they were not 'pursued' by life's challenges.

This is the story of Omope Samuel, the best graduating student of Crawford University, Igbesa Ogun State who against all odds rose from obscurity to one whose story is making rounds in the national dailies. See details after the cut...

His desire to succeed and to come out best was spurred by his parents struggle to make both ends meet and to send him to acquire university education at all cost. 21-year-old Omope Samuel became the cynosure of all eyes as he walked up the podium to deliver the 6th convocation speech as the best graduating student of the 2013/2014 academic session of Crawford University, Igbesa Ogun State owned by The Apostolic Faith Church.
Fielding questions from a group of journalists at the event, Samuel who came out with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CPGA) of 4.79 in Accounting said his determination and willingness to succeed was because of what his parents had to go through by selling some of their properties such as cars and borrowing money from friends to pay his school fees are his driving points.
"My parents went through a lot to ensure that I completed my university education. Although my father is a proprietor of a school...the business almost went out of existence because of hardship but I thank God all these experience gave me the strength to excel", he said.
Samuel explained that throughout his stay in school, he never had a girlfriend as all that mattered to him was to become the overall best graduating student, saying that it has been a dream come true.
