Sunday Meditation: The Abundant Life

''The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.'' - John 10:10

This is the first in our series on Sunday meditation, which I believe will impact positively on our spiritual essence, so relax as we unveil the Word.

There are many things out there in the world that can truncate your glorious destiny, if you allow them. A lot of promising talents have been lost due to carelessness and ignorance on the subject matter we will be looking at today. Don’t get me wrong, this is not about religion, this is about you.

God created you for a grand purpose, which is to show forth His praise and glory on earth. We were not designed to suffer failure, frustration and defeat. Those are the handiworks of the enemy.

Jesus in the Scripture I quoted above declared His primary purpose for coming to the world, ‘...I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.’ This simply means though failure, stagnation and defeat are real, you can overcame them and live the abundant life through Christ.

When we talk about the abundant life in Christ, some people think it’s just all about money and success in business. The abundant life in Christ transcends success in the material world. It impacts on the entirety of your being: spirit, soul and body.

The life that Jesus gives is a complete package, one that is free from depression, worry and failure. Halleluyah! When you allow Jesus to come into your life, He transforms you to reflect the abundant life the Scripture is talking about.

You may be thinking, ‘How can God forgive me after all I have done?’ The Lord has no problem forgiving you and erasing your ugly past, that was why Jesus came, to give you a brand new life, free from guilt and the wickedness that are apparent in the world.

The best decision you can make is to surrender your life to Christ; He will save you from sin, frustration, depression and eternal damnation. I will be happy to lead you to Christ; just say this prayer, ‘Lord Jesus, come into heart my heart; forgive me my sins. Today, I surrender my life to you, be Lord and Saviour. Amen!’

If you prayed that prayer, congratulation and welcome to the newness of life in Christ where all things are possible. I want to urge you to get yourself a Bible and begin to pray in the name of Jesus. Also look for a Bible-believing Church where you will be nurtured to grow in the knowledge of God.

Remain ever blessed!
